The Australian EdTech ecosystem includes education innovation and technology (EdTech) companies, education providers and industry participants. Our programs and services ensure that all parts of this ecosystem can connect, collaborate to accelerate Australian EdTech globally. With this in mind, we’d like to reflect on some of our key milestones from 2019:

International Pathways: increased opportunities to access international market intelligence, market entry specialists, pathways opportunities, and business matching via dedicated EdTech trade missions to the USA, UAE, Middle East & Africa and India. Market research reports and briefings, as well as international speakers via our ClearPath Syndicates and LaunchPad Online program.

ClearPath Syndicates: the first year of the ClearPath Syndicate program has seen a fantastic group of EdTech entrepreneurs in Melbourne and Sydney attend to begin the collaboration process. The groups meet every six-eight weeks and feature an exceptional guest speaker. We thank the following speakers for supporting our program:

Research Report: Enabling the growth of the Australian EdTech ecosystem report provides a 360° representation of the existing EdTech ecosystem and offers key opportunity areas that if developed, would contribute to a thriving, high functioning EdTech ecosystem across Australia.

Research Report: In collaboration with the Australia India Institute, EduGrowth co-authored their very short policy brief report titled Fostering links and partnership opportunities in EdTech between Victoria and India.

Innovation Alley at EduTECH: EduGrowth reimagined the startup space into a thriving innovation precinct – Innovation Alley featured 35 Australian startups exhibiting, Innovation Stage hosted 31 thought leaders and education experts across 11 sessions in two days and the Innovation Alley Pitch competition attracted 27 EdTech founders in a multi-heat pitch event.

Showcases: In Melbourne, the Showcase event connected higher education and tertiary focussed EdTech scaleups with introductions to potential higher education customers. In Sydney, the event connected EdTech scaleups across K12 and higher education into the NSW Department of Education, Study NSW and jobs for NSW networks of educators and administrators.

Business Plan Competition: an opportunity for early stage EdTech startups that need support to grow, connected to the world’s biggest business plan competition – the Milken-Penn GSE Business Plan Competition in 2020.

Pitch competitions: 2019 saw three major pitch opportunities, Pitch! with AWS EdStart, Innovation Alley Pitch Competition and the EdTechX Australian Final connected to the world’s biggest pitch competition – the Global Startup Super League at EdTechX Europe during London EdTech Week 2020.

LaunchPad Essentials: in 2019 EduGrowth designed and created an online program for EdTech founders to help them navigate the complex environments that exist when seeking school and university customers in Australia. This program is now available via our platform provider Open Learning.

Thought Leadership Events: EduGrowth held and collaborated with various partners to deliver inspiring thought leadership, leveraging the expertise within our extended network. We thank each and every thought leader who provided a keynote, panel or in-conversation discussion for our events and for sharing your expertise, insights and passion with the sector.
