The Australian education sector workforce is dominated by women in all verticals with one glaring exception: the EdTech ecosystem.
Australians are overwhelmingly taught by women at every level of education. Women make up 96% of early learning teachers, 85% of primary school teachers, 68% of secondary school teachers and 58% of university teachers.
Female representation in education is completely reversed when considering the education technology and innovation sector, where female entrepreneurs and executives account for only 29% of the total employment at these ranks, increasing from 25% in 2020.
