HolonIQ’s ANZ EdTech 50 – Shining a light on promising EdTech startups in Australia and New Zealand.
EduGrowth supported HolonIQ in the recently announced Australia and New Zealand EdTech 50. The list helps to shine a light on innovation across the market, the robustness of the ecosystem, and the collaboration between EdTech companies and education institutions.
There are approximately 750 EdTech companies across Australia and New Zealand, of which approximately 600 are from Australia. These companies are supporting learners, teachers, schools, institutions and companies to positively impact educational outcomes, support access to learning and increase the efficiency of educational processes and systems.
41 of the 2021 list are Australian companies employing 2,160 people with projected revenue of over $401 million. EdTech companies headquartered in Victoria and New South Wales have the most representation, 46% and 39% respectively.
The HolonIQ 2021 list includes a relatively mature cohort with two-thirds of the group over 6 years old – an indicator that established startups have been gaining traction through the COVID-19 pandemic in supporting their customers with new and / or existing services.
The final list identified teams across all aspects of the learning journey, with 49% focussed on K12 Schools, 32% on Higher Education, 10% Workforce, 7% Vocational and Skills and 2% Early Learning.
EdTech teams are supporting institutions with student management systems 15%, learning management systems 17%, and a strong focus on content management systems and content 39% and administration systems 29%.
Being listed on the HolonIQ ANZ EdTech 50 is recognition of the hard work in providing impactful solutions in the education space. Congratulations to all the teams listed.
