Victoria’s and India’s booming EdTech sectors

The Indian EdTech sector has expanded rapidly over recent years. The sector includes over 4000 startup businesses, attracting substantial investment from global and Indian investors. Growing from India’s internationally connected innovation hubs in cities such as Bengaluru and Delhi, the Indian EdTech vertical is now considered a global leader and home to some of the world’s largest EdTech companies.

The Victorian EdTech sector is thriving and leading education innovation in online program management, assessment systems, and upskilling for new technology-driven workforces. Victoria is home to 33 per cent of Australian EdTech companies, the majority being scaleup and established businesses that are export-focussed and rapidly employing skilled staff.

The program builds on the work Global Victoria and EduGrowth achieved in showcasing and connecting Victoria’s EdTech sector internationally through the Victorian Global EdTech and Innovation Expo and the inaugural Melbourne EdTech Summit in 2020 and supports Victoria’s India Strategy, and International Education Short-Term Recovery Plan.

“This is a fantastic program and shows great leadership from an innovative state to connect the Victorian EdTech ecosystem into one of the fastest growing EdTech economies in the world”.
