Hacker Exchange – Hack The Crisis Initiative

In April 2020 The Hacker Exchange ran the Australian chapter of Hack the Crisis, a 48-hour online hackathon to find innovative solutions for COVID-19 isolation. In under a fortnight we gathered over 300 participants who produced 45 projects!

The event was led by 2 of our HEX alumni, Dominic Alvaro (2019 Computer Science graduate — RMIT) and Sho Iqbal (current RMIT — Space Science), as well as our CEO, Jeanette Cheah, and Nathaniel Diong of the Future Minds Network.

It was open to all Australian residents. Supporters included Spark Deakin, Future Minds Network and mentors from The University of Melbourne and The Royal Children’s Hospital.

The Hacker Exchange’s mission is supercharging the next generation of startups & leaders through immersive experiences for students and professionals.
