Learners' value and dependency on video has accelerated in recent years with widespread rapid shifts to online learning experienced by many schools across the globe. This session will explore the growing body of research that looks at the impact of video in educational settings as well as a case study from an innovative video-based EdTech company.

The session will cover:

  • The value of collaboration between researchers and companies for both teachers and students
  • How we can use analytics to build a better understanding of how students learn
  • What the difference is between measuring learning and measuring engagement

Tara is an experienced educator and human resources professional who has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom for 20 years. Tara is passionate about learning and development, optimising talent, acting as the global education lead at ClickView.

Dr Matt Fyfield
Deputy Principal | Mazenod College

Matt Fyfield is the Deputy Principal (Learning and Teaching) at Mazenod College, Mulgrave. Having recently completed a PhD in teacher knowledge and instructional video use, he is an expert in both the cognitive science underpinning video use, and the ways in which teachers use these resources in their practice.



Michael Henderson
Professor of Digital Futures, Faculty of Education | Monash University

Michael explores the connections between technology, pedagogy and the systems that impact our learners. He has recently helped lead research to outline the essential role of efficacy in the implementation of EdTech solutions through the lens of the Global Victoria EdTech Innovation Alliance.
