Humans in the Loop and AI. <\/b>While AI in education can automate, enhance, scale, and increase access to learning experiences, human inputs are necessary to ensure the student experience and academic delivery stays validated and protected.<\/span><\/p>\n

As such, institutions and Governments have established principles and requirements for the use of AI in education settings, urging or requiring HEIs to show proof of ability to: manage bias, prioritise human thinking, protect learners\u2019 motivation, protect human autonomy, facilitate peer interaction, and cognitive ability, consult teachers, validate outputs, validate ethics and outputs before presenting to students – that is, humans in the loop.<\/p>\n

\u201cA comprehensive humans in the loop system – in the form of quality assurance teams, peer connection, managers, teachers, administrators, experienced feedback specialists, and academic leaders – can address ethical concerns, apply lived experience, adapt to custom needs, discuss subjective feedback, navigate cultural nuances and communities, and adhere to agreed principles,\u201d<\/em> said Jack.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is integrated into all our partners\u2019 services because it is ethical and best practice for AI in education.\u201d

New AI technology, based on years of evidence. <\/b>To measure the platform\u2019s efficacy and continuously improve it, Studiosity conducts ongoing research. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve conducted close to two dozen studies with university partners around the world that have measured everything from impact on pass rates and GPAs, differences in impact for students from international or non-English speaking backgrounds, and senses of belonging and wellbeing,\u201d<\/em> Jack explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also run symposia and advisory groups where we share what we’re working on with our university partners and ask them to share their feedback on what’s working for them and what they would like to work better or differently. During the 8 to 9 weeks, learners view a series of videos in which they will come together to discuss and share their learnings from these videos which helps them understand from one another\u2019s perspectives. In the modules, learners are also given tasks to complete. They can post their answers within the course, which is open for other course mates and moderators to view, comment and engage with the content. For occasions where a learner is shy, they can choose to send an email or organise a separation session with the moderators privately. Throughout the course, there are two main facilitators who goes onto the platform daily. They use the discussion board strategically to exhibit the type of collaborative learning they want to see in the cohort, and support those who are struggling with the course. With analytics in the Cahoot platform, facilitators are also able to observe who is lagging on some of the modules and who is ahead. This also helps the facilitators personalise in their delivery to the learners. This is then complemented by a three-day face-to-face program, where learners must complete the online learning component to be able to attend.
