Associate Professor Josephine Lang

Josephine Lang is Academic Program Director, HASS – Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences including Law and Education at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne School of Professional and Continuing Education (MSPACE). Josephine is a Research Project Partner responsible for planning, implementation and analysis of results in line with the overall project objective

Josephine Lang holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in the use of digital multi- media to support professional learning of pre-service teachers. Associate Professor Josephine Lang (PhD) holds a Master of Education, Master of Environmental Studies and Bachelor of Education (Secondary teaching).

Josephine has worked across Australian universities for over 20 years in academic leadership roles that focus on improving learning and teaching.

She has held positions of Deputy Head of School, Teaching and Learning, in universities; and chaired the Australian network of teaching and learning associate deans of education faculties, nationally leading curriculum change and innovation for improved learning outcomes. With a research focus on micro-credentials, education technologies, curriculum, and assessment innovation, she has a notable profile of peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters.

Currently, Josephine is the academic lead for the University of Melbourne’s policy implementation of micro-credentials for continuing professional education initiative.
