InformED

An initiative to boost the local EdTech ecosystem.

InformED is an exciting initiative designed to boost the local EdTech ecosystem

The initiative builds connection and collaboration through a combination of thought leadership, innovation demonstrations and structured engagement between EdTech companies and the education sector.

InformED delivers this, through its Procurement Webinar Series and Proof of Concept, providing Victorian-based educators, EdTech companies and key stakeholders with opportunities to develop a shared understanding of cross-sector challenges, the role of EdTech in education systems, procurement processes, and the practical realities of piloting and scaling innovation in real learning environments.

Through these programs, InformED helps break down barriers between innovators and education providers, strengthen relationships, and enable meaningful collaboration grounded in real-world application.

We thank our strategic partner, the City of Melbourne, for their continued support of InformED and their commitment to strengthening the Victorian and Australian EdTech sector.

The Procurement Webinar Series is designed to support EdTech leaders in building a clearer understanding of how education procurement works across K–12, higher education, and government funding systems in Australia.

The series focuses on unpacking real procurement processes, compliance requirements, funding pathways, and institutional decision-making. Through three targeted sessions, it brings together EdTech companies, educators and industry stakeholders to explore how solutions can be positioned within complex education systems and purchasing frameworks.

The initiative is structured to encourage knowledge-sharing, strengthen connections between the EdTech sector and education providers, and gather engagement and learning insights through participant feedback and evaluation over time.

The Proof of Concept connects Melbourne-based EdTech companies with education providers to trial their solutions in real-world learning environments. Through structured 12–16 week pilots, participating companies can receive educator feedback, explore their value proposition, and develop evidence to support future decision-making and market positioning.

The program is designed to support collaboration between startups, schools and universities, and to contribute towards the testing and development of education technologies in authentic settings.
