Understanding Learners in an AI-Driven World

We’re kicking off the first WEL Syndicate of 2026 in the best possible way - with a powerful, energising conversation designed just for our community of women shaping the future of education.

Joined by Anna Denejkina, researcher, writer, academic and one of Australia’s emerging voices on digital culture, youth and the social impact of technology. Anna brings a refreshing, grounded perspective on what generative AI really means for students, educators and the systems around them.

Drawing on The Insight Centre’s ‘Gen Z to GenAI’ report, this conversation will explore the rapidly evolving attitudes, expectations and behaviours of young people as they navigate an AI-driven world. Anna will draw on those findings to provide a deeper understanding of what’s shifting and what leaders must respond to next.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The real-world impact of generative AI on student learning, behaviour and wellbeing

  • Opportunities for innovation across schools, higher education, VET and lifelong learning

  • The challenges ahead — integrity, trust, equity and the human side of AI

  • What leaders need to be thinking about now to guide learners through an accelerating digital future

The WEL Syndicate brings together a trusted circle of women education leaders, EdTech founders and innovators. This community is where women connect, collaborate and accelerate each other’s growth.

Proudly supported by StudyNSW through the AmplifyED initiative, the WEL Syndicate champions women’s leadership and ensures NSW continues to lead in education innovation
