A fast-track into the Indian education market

The NSW Going Global – India program is an opportunity for NSW EdTech companies to gain the tools to launch in India. This unique program is an initiative by Investment NSW.

As part of the program, EduGrowth has partnered with the India Didactics Association (IDA) to facilitate a proof of concept EdTech pilot program for select companies participating in the program.

The full six month program commenced in November 2021 and provides participants with in-depth market insights, market specific business culture and etiquette training, voice of customer sessions, potential partner introductions, business matching, and market entry strategy feedback.

The proof of concept EdTech pilot program is about to begin with ClickView, Elumina eLearning, Literatu and Wonde to be matched with an Indian education institution to deploy their EdTech solution for 16 weeks between February and April 2022.

These companies were selected as they are actively looking to enter the Indian market and have solutions ready for immediate deployment with Indian educators.

This is a unique opportunity as it connects EdTech organisations directly with in-country partners and prospective customers. Each company will receive direct feedback about their product’s market-fit and a testimonial for use in seeking Indian customers.

The size of the Indian education market makes it an attractive export opportunity for Australian EdTech. There are 1.5 million K-12 schools, 37.4 million students in higher education, and a projected 40 million seats to add & fill in the vocational training sector.

How the proof of concept EdTech trial works
  • EdTech solutions are promoted to shortlisted Indian education institutions for their consideration
  • A match between the EdTech and education institution is identified
  • EdTech & education institutions meet via video call to finalise program expectations. This is an opportunity for the EdTech company and education institution to discuss the solution, the education setting being deployed and agree on timeframes and outcomes
  • EdTech provides complimentary software access for each participating education institution for the duration of the trial and provide onboarding, training and problem solving support
  • Education institution trial the solution for 16 weeks and provide evidence and feedback
  • Post program the EdTech and education institutions will have an opportunity to meet and discuss commercial arrangements, if applicable

This proof of concept edtech trial program is a wonderful opportunity to fast track an EdTech company’s understanding of how their solution might be accepted in the Indian education market.

We look forward to learning how the trials progress and sharing learnings.
