EduGrowth supported HolonIQ in the recently announced Australia-New Zealand EdTech Top 50; an initiative recognising the most innovative, emerging EdTech companies in the Australia & New Zealand region.
There are approximately 750 EdTech companies across Australia and New Zealand, of which approximately 600 are from Australia. These companies are supporting learners, teachers, schools, institutions and companies to positively impact educational outcomes, support access to learning and increase the efficiency of educational processes and systems.

The final list identified teams across all aspects of the learning journey, with 56% focussed on K12 Schools, 23% on Higher Education, 10% Vocational and Skills, 8% Workforce and 3% Early Learning. They saw several EdTech teams that support institutions with education management, communication and analytics systems, as well as a strong focus on digital content solutions.
Maria Spies, CoFounder of HolonIQ commented that the cohort are “solving real problems, real learning problems, real institutional, real market problems”, and highlighted the ANZ market is enhanced by factors including the “strong, high-quality and long-standing education systems, openness to technology and use of technology”.
The launch webinar featured HolonIQ Co Founders, Maria Spies and Patrick Brothers, EduGrowth Managing Director David Linke and a number of the listed companies including: Zoe Milne from Loop Learn (AU), Ryan Trainor from Adventus (AU), Sandy Heldsinger from Brightpath (AU), Mark Rohald from Cluey Learning (AU), Lena Litz from Chatterise (NZ) and Wes Sonnenreich from Practera (AU).
HolonIQ experts assessed each organisation based on HolonIQ’s startup scoring rubric, which covers market, product, team, capital and momentum.
39 of the 50 companies featured on the ANZ EdTech 50 are Australian, with Victorian and New South Welsh companies having the most representation, 44% and 41% respectively.
