EduGrowth’s first Pre-Accelerator winners

EduGrowth’s first Pre-Accelerator winners

Congratulations to everyone who pitched at our events across Australia. 18 amazing teams showcased their businesses to the Australian EdTech community over 4 nights in 4 capital cities across the country. Thank you again to all of your for joining us in this first EduGrowth Pre-Accelerator! Read more about the winning teams and some of the insights they gained from the Pre-Accelerator program.

Brisbane: Christopher Drake – Enrolment Pay

EnrolmentPay makes receiving and reconciling onshore and offshore student payments scalable, by using our global payment network and connected into your accounting package.

By talking to potential customers, we discovered that on average 40% of the accounts team time is dedicated to managing student payments and during peak periods the only way they get through more payments is by hiring more casual staff to process the payments quicker.

Melbourne: Nathan Sherburn – Mars

Mars is on a mission to end boring lectures for good.

The biggest thing I learnt from the EduGrowth pre-accelerator was how to better describe the problem statement. Showing numbers – quantifying the problem – is far more effective than just saying something is “bad” or “terrible”.

Perth: Dr Ashley Aitken – Acavista

Acavista provides totally flexible higher education to experienced learners.

It was great to hear that our understanding of the issues in higher education matched those presented by Maria Spies and to learn more about selling into international markets from Ken Taggart (unfortunately that it is very very hard).

Sydney: Lucy Chambers and Alinta Hunter – Cleverbean

A teacher’s toolkit to empower the art of reading.
